Understanding the impacts of hydro and thermal power stations led to a keen interest and greater understanding of freshwater ecology and water quality.

Michelle is also an experienced Project Manager having delivered a number of construction and restoration projects in the Waikato and Bay of Plenty Regions.
Michelle is the Chair of Waikato RiverCare, a charitable organisation focussed in delivering high quality wetland and riparian restoration projects in the Lower Waikato catchment.
