Michelle joined Place Group in 2015 after 11 years in the electricity industry.
Michelle has undertaken a wide range of projects throughout her career, including ensuring compliance with resource consents for large power schemes, managing ecological and geomorphological monitoring and iwi and stakeholder engagement. Understanding the impacts of hydro and thermal power stations led to a keen interest and greater understanding of freshwater ecology and water quality. Since joining Place Group Michelle has been fortunate to work on catchment management projects as well as undertake the role of freshwater biosecurity coordinator for pest fish in the Waikato. Michelle is also an experienced Project Manager having delivered a number of construction and restoration projects in the Waikato and Bay of Plenty Regions. Michelle is the Chair of Waikato RiverCare, a charitable organisation focussed in delivering high quality wetland and riparian restoration projects in the Lower Waikato catchment. When she is not working Michelle plays golf, having represented Waikato on numerous occasions over the past 25 years. She also enjoys visiting Whangamata with her husband and two sons, keeping fit while enjoying the outdoors. |
